A citywide Easter Festival will be held from 01 till May 15
Saint Petersburg is not only a cultural but also a spiritual city. A real proof of it is the great celebration of Easter, one of the main holidays in the Christian calendar. All churches and cathedrals will get festive decorations - colourful laces and bunches of natural flowers. A special triumphant sound from the bells will be heard throughout the city during the whole week.
St. Petersburg with its usual scope celebrates the glorious feast of the Resurrection of Christ - Easter. Easter Festival is held simultaneously at two sites - near the Kazan Cathedral and on Malaya Konushennaya street.
The ceremonial opening of the festival will take place on May 1 at 01-00 p.m. at the square near Kazan Cathedral.
The festival program includes Easter fairs, exhibition projects, concerts and entertainment events.
In the spirit of the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ guests and city residents will be able to find something for all tastes, and for the younger visitors there will be a separate program of colourful Easter events.
Easter Festival is held with the blessing of the Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Varsonofii.
